After reading The Hunger Games trilogy, I wanted to jump right into another book.
It’s part of my New Year’s resolution to read more books, and this year I have read four. So technically, I’m on track to read a book a month, which I think is a pretty good goal.
My next choice was Water for Elephants. Tim’s sister, mother and extended family gave it rave reviews. Plus, I already had the book … along with a bunch of other books that sit on my bookshelves, waiting to be read … I have a book addiction. Tim knows. He accepts it.
I started the book Sunday and had planned to read it leisurely … but then I saw that the movie was going to be played on HBO on Saturday (tonight) and wanted to have it read in time.
Well, mission accomplished.
I just finished the book about an hour ago, and I have to agree with the family: It was really good.
It was compelling and entertaining. A little bit raunchy and very hard to put down. You really love all the characters, especially the animals and their personalities. And you get upset when one of them is hurt.
I will definitely be recommending this book to anyone and everyone.
